My mother in law has been there for over 2 weeks and now they have patients that have tested positive for covid and are handling the process so poorly it is mind blowing. Insanely rude when asked are they going to test my mother in law before discharging her answer was No this place should be shut down and investigated poor staff and even worse health care professionals. Anyone staying there as of 7-10-20 should check on there family covid is there and confirmed.

I would not recommend sending a loved one to Life Care of Blount County. My father was at the facility for approximately 6 weeks for rehabilitation. Based on his experience, it was evident there was a lack of communication at the facility and that management was more concerned for profits over patients. The therapists and therapy program were excellent, but the nursing services were often to the point of negligent. It appears as if there was a shortage of nurses and CNAs scheduled to the point they were unable to take care of their patient needs. Many of the CNAs were very attentive and dedicated but they were overworked. There were times that one CNA had 17 patients assigned to them. My father often would have to wait 45 minutes to an hour after pushing his call button for someone to even check to see what he needed before waiting additional time for the item to be resolved. This would be very concerning in an emergency situation. Being unable to visit made the lack of communication even harder. We communicated with Management (Executive Director, Director of Nursing, Director of Case Management) multiple times about our concerns with the care of my father and they disregarded our concerns. I would be very concerned to send a loved one to this facility if they were not cognitively aware of their surroundings to be able to appropriately communicate the lack of care. Luckily, my father was able to communicate to us on Facetime and we could follow-up with the facility as necessarily.

Lovely facility, staff overwhelmed just like any chain of nursing homes. Did nursing home business similar to this in 3 different states, portable radiology and cardiology services. 2 undergrad medical degrees. They are almost all the same not to mention was given wrong patients medication but twice the dose of antibiotics, 325 mg aspirin instead of 81 mg then to top it off vancomycin antibiotic hung when phlebotomist was coming in morning. Pt ot staff very nice.TransferTammy admitted took my list of meds the way I take them never made to med listTransferTammy admitted took my list of meds the way I take them never made to med listWound care under assumption just foot not decubitus Had an small bm didnt know dont know how long laid in it soiled dressing waited more than 3 hours before got changeHung wrong antibioticNo bed bathNo drsssing changeNo pic line changeGot referral from wound care nurse practitioner to amedisysAnd permission to use commode w pressure release every 10 minutesCharity gives cefolspirin right after vancomycinIv ran out at shift change they had a mtg never came back to disconnect for over an hour pt had been in at least 4x to do therapy always hooked up to antibioticsCharity gives cefalsporin right after vancomycinLorelei waiting since before 1:30Went without dressing all day until 2:45Didnt get 20 mg baclofanIv been going off for 20 minutes no responseVanco hung knowing phlebotomists comingAsa325mg not 81Had to call mark find out where baclofan was on another hallAsa325 mg not 81 hung vanco before phlebotomists drew bloodIv tubing fell on floor need another tube set againChanged pic line dressing 5aAsa325 mg not 81 hung vanco before phlebotomists drew blood then robbin had to draw from pic line at2:30 pAndrea wound nurse practitioner been waiting for dressing change since 1:30Today was messed up day night nurse lied saidvrefusdd 5 am suppository when she came in at 6 had arranged for suppository after bkfst didnt get until after lunch wound care came before lunch deacons solution dressing fell off while on commode discussed wound vac said would be here today no show waited for dressing changeAsa325 mg not 81 hung vanco before phlebotomists drew blood then robbin had to draw from pic line at2:30 pMilia social services ext 7219Lorazepam been writing in book for a week havent seen nurse practioner in over 14 days Nurse practitioner finally showed up first time shed seen it. Lived alone with big service dog . Now have to send back to breeder as wound is worse. There are some good staff Jen and shaniqua wound nurses, several aids but they are so overworked and short staffed while I was the up until April 10 -may 28. Then had audacity to send me a bill for $176. Btw the nurse gave me someone else meds, 325 mg instead of 81 and hung the vancomycin before phlebotomist came same nurse still work 11-7. Only good 11-7 nurse I encountered was Samantha.

I just want to give a shout out to a nurse but not only her, the facility as well! Lori Macdougal is by far the most caring and loving nurse I've ever had experience with, and I would be blessed to have her take care of me, or any of my family... Thank you for everything you do LORI for your co workers, but most of all for someone you dont even know!! To anyone who is looking for caring nurses, to take care of your loved ones, Lifecare Center of Blount County is the way to go

My husband was put in isolation and not given his medicine, when I called over there to find out what was going on the administrator assured me he medicine would be given to him promptly! 6 hours later no medicine and he is suffering..nobody come in the room to check on him for hours!! During covid19...he won't be going back there!! I'm very upset!!! They didn't 't come to check on him when he pressed the call button..he suffered in pain all night...please don't put your loved one here!@!
