DEPLORABLE!!! I had a client who was a resident here for four months in their rehab facility. The treatment he received was worthy of us considering filing complaints with authorities. He was involved in an incident where a roommate feel on him in his sleep and severely injured him. Not only did they fail to contact any of the family members they failed to file any of the required incident reports. After repeated requests for the report they refused to provide it. Other sources in the facility confirmed one was never done. On a second incident they forced the resident who suffers from Chronic COPD to use a Nebulizer despite the fact that he has a sever allergic reaction to major active ingredient in the Nebulizer. He contacted me to tell me to tell me he couldnt breath. It was only after an argument with the RN and a review of his Med chart that I was able to prove this was the case they refused to listen to him. The Nebulizer had lowered his 02 levels into the 80s and would of likely killed him had it not been stopped. Once it was understood that he would be leaving the facility to an ALF his treatment became even worse. On his discharge he was sent with no Medicare card....No Oxygen in his 02 bottle...4 of his 8 medications....an extremely expensive back brace never made it in the move...prescription cream for the bedsores he received there was also withheld on his transfer. I would encourage you to do your homework and check on pending legal action.REPLY: To your response PROVIDE THE INCIDENT REPORT WE REQUESTED!! This matters will be addressed with State and Federal agencies to prevent this from happening to other victims.
