My mother has been at Applewood Our House IV for 2.5 years. While there has been frequent staff turnover, every single caregiver has been kind and gentle. The house is clean, bright, and welcoming. The dog adds an additional home-like feel. Lots of activities and outings for the residents (and family if they can go) but no pressure to do anything they don't want to do. Mom's never complained about the food which seems appealing with lots of variety. I visit Mom weekly and while she is not always out of bed (her choice), she is always clean and in clean clothes or nightgown.

My dad was 97 when he passed away October 2018 He lived the most blessed, wonderful, adventurous life I wanted to ensure that the last six months of his life was as special as he was. The staff at Applewood Our House made that possible Every single day he received love, affection, proper medical attention, and he always felt that he was special in this Loving environment. Toward the end of daddys earthly life, the house manager, Barb, made sure that all of our needs were met and she introduced us to elevation hospice which I cannot say enough about They were available for us 24/7 to ensure dads comfort. We believe the opportunity to have daddy in this South Lakewood residential home was not only a blessing for him but it was for our entire family

My mom has been at Applewood for a while and is treating extremely well! The staff is genuinely concerned for her. I love the little extras they do to try and keep the residents as comfortable as possible. They are super friendly and really care.

My dad started having bizarre behavior issues that we did not understand. He lived with us for a few years and despite some memory problems and a little confusion we did great. Then the delusions and paranoia began. For 4 months we worked with doctors and facilities trying to find a place willing and able to care for my father's special needs. I'm so glad we found Applewood. They have been there not only for him but for us - helping us understand the disease and what it does and providing us with coping mechanisms and ways to continue to have meaningful communication as he declines.

I love the personalized, loving care in the small environment of 16 residents. My husband has been a resident for almost a year. The staff have learned who he was & what he finds joy in. This is huge for quality of life for someone with advanced dementia. And, I feel they genuinely care about me. If you are looking for quality of care & quality of life for your loved one with dementia (any form!), I encourage you to visit and see for yourself.
