Northland Lodge Assisted Living

I cannot say enough about Atrium in Two Rivers at Northland Lodge. A few years ago both my parents made the choice to go into Assisted Living. My mom was needing more help than my Dad could give her at home. It was a sad/hard time for all of us because that would mean the house they worked so hard for and that we grew up in was not going to be home any more. We did not know where to start our journey, but what we did know is that our parents deserved the best and we wanted to make sure we gave that to them. We had gone to a total of 8 Assisted Living facilities in Manitowoc and Teo Rivers. On our 7th stop we decided to call Northland Lodge. I had called to make an appointment to take a tour and I will never forget what the woman said to me. She said she did not want to schedule a date and time with us and just wanted us to stop in at any time / day and that way we could see first hand how they run on a daily basis. I was very impressed by this!We did just that, we came in on Friday afternoon about 430pm unannounced. The person in charge was CarrieAnn Mott and she gave us a tour, and offered us supper. We knew it was Friday and I am sure they had other things to do then to tour a family this late right before a weekend. We ended up staying for supper because CarrieAnn insisted, and it was amazing from the generous staff and Reaidents to the amazing home made soup we had. After supper CarrieAnn met with us again in her office and before we knew it, it was going on 7pm. Not at anytime did any of the staff try to hurry us along or even look at the clock. We left Northland Lodge with the information they gave us but also with happy hearts and full bellys! We knew right then and there this is where my parents should be. Long story short, my parents moved into Northland Lodge and are still here. My parents are taken care of and we do not need to worry about them. The staff are amazing! except for maybe one or two new faces it is the same staff from day 1!I cannot say enough about Northland Lodge, we toured 7 other facilitys and they were all very nice, some even seemed like the ritz, but Northland Lodge had that home feel. We also noted how clean it is.Atrium at Northland Lodge suffered what they called a receivership a few months ago, basically a pretty name for a bankruptcy. However, if they did not tell us about it, we would probably of never even knew this occurred. Nothing at the facility with staff or the care my parents receive was affected in any way shape or form. It is how it has been the whole time I have no concern at all.CarrieAnn and her staff are truly amazing. I can call at any time day night weekend with a question, and they always are there to help myself, siblings and my parents. If you want a piece of mind knowing your parent(s) will be taken care of, Northland Lodge is the place to be. Have to borderline argue with staff,(first shift) to get out for a cigarette break. Not happy! Breakfast made me sick to my new stomach.
