After my father took a bad fall at age 87 I needed to find an assisted living facility on the west side of Madison that could meet his needs. A facility that was not overwhelming in size, clean and well maintained, with personalized care plans, caring staff and good quality food. After looking at several options and talking with many people, Brightstar fit the bill. They did an excellent job making residents feel at home in a cozy caring atmosphere. There was not shortage of activities that residents could choose to participate in. My family felt that my father received excellent care in the year and a half he lived at Brightstar.

Not enough staff. The tenant that I referred there was not given good care. April 2019

We moved my mother from another memory care facility. After only five days we regret not doing it sooner. We have seen such a change in her. She is happier and more social then she has been in almost a year. The staff at Brightstar of Madison are not only professional, they truly do care about the folks they are caring for.

Our mom has been with Bright Star since July 2017. Due to a health crisis in June 2016, she had to move in on relatively short notice, and with minimal planning and preparation. We could not have been more delighted with the kindness, the warmth, and the understanding with which Bright Star received our Mom. They were flexible, transparent, and organized on all fronts, including payment, insurance qualification and the logistics of the move. Since then the care our mom has received has been exemplary. The Staff at Bright Star is attentive and kind without being patronizing. The daily activities and meals delight our mom, who is, by nature, skeptical of organized events. My sisters and I believe our mom is happier at Bright Star than she has been for many years.

Here is a story of our experience having our mom live at BrightStar. Their Life Enrichment Coordinator (not sure if she wants her name shared) created an email address for my mom (who forgot how to use email years ago). Whenever my mom receives an email, the coordinator reads the email to my mom and then, together, they write a response. It opened up a form of communication everyone in my family missed, especially because some of us do not live in the same state. But this is what made me cry: I had sent an email to mom explaining that her granddaughter was halfway around the world doing animal research. I included a picture of the animal she was observing. Yesterday I visited with mom, and saw that this same Life Enrichment Coordinator had hung on my moms wall, a large -text copy of my email (with the picture of the animal). Next to the email the life enrichment coordinator had placed a map of the world and included a picture of my mom over Wisconsin and a picture of her granddaughter over the country where shes conducting research. Wow. Thank you BrightStar.
