I currently just moved my Grandmother today. I was greated in a super friendly and supportive way by all staff that I met. From the movers that moved her belongings, (as well as set the room up for her) to the nurse on duty, to the staff taking care of her and the others. Everybody was so kind and helpful!!! They are more then accomidating to the needs of her about her privacy and everything else.

When staff take time to write in that can be a great thing. Especially if they have their own parents living at the community they serve as a long time employee. That says a lot. I would never have my own parent reside somewhere where I wasn't proud of the service and care and her safety means everything to me. Fairwood has many staff who have been with the community for a very long time. Not many retirement communities can say that. We consider this a blessing to have individuals who give their time to serve elders for many many years. We also have many second and third generation residents living at Fairwood who have had prior positive experience having a parent reside in the community. Otherwise they would not consider moving to Fairwood. When considering a retirement community the average national monthly fee percentage is approximately 5% for Residential Living in the industry. The annual cost of living changes are parallel with utiltiies, staffing, transportation fuel costs to include other services offered in the local area. Compeitively Fairwood expenses are in the middle range verses high or low in the Spokane area. Residents are asked to meet with their financial planners ahead to ensure they are able to afford the choices they personally make. We did this with my own parent. This community offers so much for seniors. Family owned and operated which provides a unique environment for senior living. As a staff member I am proud and thankful to work at such a community. The residents are fabulous and we are like one big family. I have been in the industry for 18 years and believe this community has successfully brought integrity and a great sense of commitment to senior living in Spokane, WA. My own mother resided here at Fairwood Assisted Living and that means alot to our own family members. Continuum of care is so needed for seniors and the Knutson family continues to bring forth a successful residential living community for those who are so dear to us. Thanks so much!

My mother lived at Fairwood for about 6 years. During that period of time her monthly fees went up by about $200.00 a month. Staff were always taking home extra food to feed their families...no wonder they had to keep raising the fees. Maintenance was always so slow to fix problems of concern. Quite a few times I had to go in and have a chat with management. My mother hated when I did that because they would hold it against her by not being friendly and giving her the cold shoulder. I was actually threatened by the activities director and told not to complain or my mom would be put on a list and they would find a reason to kick her out!!! The food is really heavy on carbs and is poor quality. I hate places that feast on our elderly and care so little about them. (It is very pathetic when you need your employees to write good reviews for you to bring up your ratings!)
