First, My mother is a resident at QA retirement. I am not. My career (45+ years) was in the hospitality industry. I am posting this review without the knowledge or consent of my mother. The ownership changed at the first of 2019. The new owners (COGIR Brossard, QC Canada) promised the residents 'nothing will change'. Unfortunately this has turned out to be false. A number of 'cost saving' ideas have been implemented. Before COGIR management arrived there was a stable long serving staff and management. No more. The most important person at the facility; the senior administrator has left. Hours are being reduced for some remaining staff. A wholesale turnover is in process. The kitchen and serving staff are working shorthanded. It's common knowledge in the hospitality industry this order of events will send many of the best employees looking elsewhere. Only emergency intervention by senior management (perhaps Mathieu Duguay ?) will stop this chain of events. Unknown to the new owners (I suspect) a senior care facility in Seattle closed in the fall of 2014. A good number of these displaced seniors eventually moved to this (QA) facility. My mother was one. This group has made many new friends here. This shared move has turned out to be emotionally binding. My mother is talking about moving..... along with many of her friends. Nobody WANTS to move. If the situation continues to deteriorate... this group of successful seniors will feel unwanted. Until this facility stabilizes any new residents will be moving into a distracted mess. Buyer beware. (As of 10-28-2019 no real change)

Going down hill fast! New leadership is terrible. I hope things improve.

Since the new management, there has been ALOT of turnover. I find it amusing that one of the reviews of 5 stars is from an employee who is quitting. The truth about this community is that the transition to Cogir and the loss of the prior administrator is poor for the residents of this community. I have been involved with this community for over 5 years and it is now going downhill. Cogir needs to get there act together! I have stopped referring people to this community. My last referral that moved in complains of excessive wait times in the dining room and care giver assistance. She told me she waited in the bathroom for 40 minutes before anyone came to help her. This is currently a place I would not want my loved one living in. Its sad that I use to sing its praises to now me having to post a review like this. I recommend Cogir get the prior administrator back!!
