The camp guide (facility administrator) is well versed in the historical details of Camp Hearne. She really made the history of the camp come alive during the tour of the museum/visitor center. I graduated from Texas A&M University just a stone's throw south on Hwy 6 from Camp Hearne and I never heard of this place. Truly incredible!

Donations accepted. Plan on 1-2 hours. Definitely worth the stop. Excellent displays and wonderful tour guide. Primarily a German POW camp, plus some Italian & Japanese.

Very nice and informative lady tour guide. Learned a lot I didn't know. I'm a WW II fan and was impressed with the information and exhibits.
