Brookdale is awesome. Alicia is very knowledgeable and can explain care, along with what else they offer, in great detail.

I have visited Brookdale Meridian on several occasions. The home is clean and bright. The employees are other-centered. I also observed the staff interact with compassion and kindness with the each person. Each leadership team demonstrates the patience and dedication needed to serve loved ones. I recommend Brookdale Meridian.

My experience might not be the same as others, but I felt like this was one of those places that is initially very nice to you and then, when they have your money, loses interest. My mom stayed at Clare Bridge for two months - she had Altzheimers and needed a safe place. The building looks great - very homey - and the front desk staff is nice. After we moved her in we began to notice that the day to day care was done by mostly med techs, not nurses or doctors. The care varies - some techs are interested and caring and some, honestly, are not. Once we were there and all the techs went in the nurse's office, leaving the residents alone. Another time I heard them describe my mom's bathroom issues as 'gross'. They have a doctor on staff who supposedly sees the residents regularly but I never saw him and talked with him. He conveyed messages through a nurse and they both ordered a lot of medications without my approval. When my mom fell and fractured her hip, none of them went to see her at the hospital although I was told they would. The money is an issue too at Clare Bridge- they told us an initial fee which was quite reasonable. But then each week, they added another 'personal service' which increased the cost. An example is 'scheduling podiatry appointments' at a cost of $50 per month. Finally, when my mom's condition worsened, the nurse told me she had lung cancer and should have Hospice services. I signed on with their recommended Hospice company and then realized my mom needed to move to a more hospital-like facility for full time care. The folks at Sparrow Hospice could not find any evidence of 'lung cancer', although they concurred that she did have less than 6 months to live due to other issues. Finally, two months after my mom left Clare Bridge, and two weeks after her death, I received some bills. When I called to inquire, the nurse told me she had another call and couldn't talk to me and then a med tech told me the manager would call me right back. It's the close of business and no one has called. And that's what prompted me to write this review.
