The social worker Jolene, is the coldest most disagreeable person at the home and , in my opinion , should not even work with patients! She deemed my father-in-law independent and because of that was kicked out and medicaid cut off. He is an amputee who weighs 300 lbs. He went to government housing who said he is not independent, he cannot even use the toilet himself, getting on and off and was asked to leave as he is too dependant on help. When we tried to get him in another nursing facility, we made an appointment for him to be evaluated at the Gladwin Hospital, and Jolene was there! She doesn't even work at the other nursing home, but since she disliked my father-in-law , stepped out of her lane to bad mouth him to that nursing home and they refused to even evaluate him. What a mess she has caused for an elderly man who has mental issues and nowhere to go.

First I would like to address the 'admin' person who I spoke with about my father's bed and the fact that he was in distress. It was not your job to ask me 'did you talk to your dad?' 'How do you know he's in distress' welp I still have his voice mail and called you for help. You did not return my phone call. I am so glad my brother's came and got my dad. How did you NOT notice his lung sounds? This was why he was in distress. He most likely had a cva. He was heard trying to breathe from the nursing station.drowning has a tendency to make a person distressed . Your facility and medical staff FAILED my father. You are lucky I wasn't there and heard this from my father that only a week ago the only thing going was his lungs. Great job not recognizing aspiration pneumonia. More staff, more medical training for cna's. They need to know their patients normal as well as the nursing staff caring for the individual they are charting for. R.I.P. Kenneth J. Fowler

I am very sorry you were not happy with the outcome. As Administrator of Gladwin Nursing & Rehabilitation, I stand behind our Social Worker and our Inter Disciplinary Team. As a nursing home facility we are required to follow all State and Federal guidelines.
