I have been residing in the Health Center, which is the skilled nursing side of Deerfield. The nurses and care staff have been wonderful. They are always polite and care about my well being. When I first came to the Health Center, I was in a lot of pain and much work ahead of me to gain the strength I would need to go back home. I am happy to report that I am leaving here today, with more strength than I ever thought I would have again. Thank you to the rehab staff and thank you to all of the team members who made my stay here a positive and memorable experience.

6 year residents and Love It. Friendly residents, meals like a 5 star restaurant, a wide range of activities and modern up-to-date facilities. Its like living in a scenic resort with walking trails, lake, putting green and the best views in DesMoines.

As an employee of Deerfield Retirement Community, there couldn't be a more friendly, and inviting community to be apart of. I love coming to work each day and I truly enjoy the team members and the culture of Deerfield as a whole. The culture is made of 'exceptional people providing exceptional care and services.' The residents are given the opportunity to flourish each and everyday. Everyone is family here at Deerfield. As a teammember, it is a goal each day to support our residents with memorable and personalized experiences, that contribute to successful aging!

If I could give this facility a zero rating I would! I was my mothers medical POA and they repeatedly ignored my medical advise as a registered nurse. I had two siblings who barely have a high school education. They got an attorney to make them a medical POA and a financial POA and have my mother sign the paperwork with dementia. Deerfield listened to their advice to not have a 24 hour sitter for my mother because it would decrease their inheritance by 30K a month. So they talked privately with management at Deerfield because they were local to NOT put a sitter in place, due to money. Seven falls later on to a cement floor in their RCF care area, my sisters inheritance dreams came true. She died of pneumonia from a T-3 fracture to her vertebrae. The sisters who were medical and financial POAs did not even want her to have pain medication. Malinda Shultice and James Robinson will be the two you will be referred to if you have problems at this facility but believe me they wont do a thing to help you! I posted this review on Yelpand Deerfield had it removed. James Robinson reported the two local family members to the state of Iowa for abuse and continued to take their advice. My sibling and I have reported them to the state of Iowa for their negligence and the death of our mother and had no resolution or investigation. DONT PUT YOUR LOVED ONE AT THIS FACILITY!!!!!
