Heritage Woods of Flora

Been accused of things, when asked questions, nothing was clarified, as we tried to contact main office to work out problems nothing got resolved. Was informed everything HAD to be done thru the staff, an for income based nothing was ever adjusted based on income, even when the proof was there, was told didn't matter could charge what they wanted. An do as they wanted, but I am sure this post will be deleted and /or a snide remark made to it as I have not seen that many happy residents in the place. As these reviews would lead people to believe, an many staff have been terminated if they do not agree with one certain staff member as the head man does not seem to know what's going on since he always goes by her word alone. That is a sad way to run a place.

Get people to work with and everyone is treated like family.

My Aunt moved in back in April amd we have had nothing but one problem after another with the administrative staff. Heritage Woods says that they're income based. But was told by Lucas this morning that her income doesnt matter, they can charge what they want. They had called Social Security so much behind our backs that her checks were stopped 3 times. We have tried to work with them and have asked them several times to readjust her rent, have been told either that it would be readjusted for have been told that it can't be because ahe is being charged the minimum amount for her rent which is above what she makes a month. I have contacted the corporate office and spoke with the regional manager and still nothing has been done. I really don't think that any of the families of the residents truly understands or knows what is really going on there. And my biggest problem was when we were told that we HAD to give them a screen shot of my aunts bank account to prove that she wasn't getting her checks as my fiance has been accused several times by the administrative staff of stealing from my aunt even though we have proven several times that that was not the case, we're still lying. NOTHING we say or do is enough to make them happy. And then when I stated that out of the first check of hers that we get that we were going to take out her $90 no they allowance that she was supposed to be getting for the past 5 months I was told by both Sara and Valerie that we weren't allowed to do that. All she can have is $90 and they get the rest. It doesn't matter that we were going to give her $90 and keep the rest in her account for anything else she wanted or needed. She's not allowed to get 'back pay' for the months she didn't get her living expenses of $90. I would not recommend this place to anyone as I feel they are robbing these senior citizens and their families blind and taking advantage of them. We also checked and Heritage Woods is listed as an Assists Living Facility AND a Supportive Living Facility which according to Illinois guidelines a facility such as Heritage Woods cannot be listed as both as Medicaid will ONLY pay for a Supportive Living Facility and not an Assisted Living Facility. But once again we got told by them that yes they can be both. Personally I think the administration there bends the rules as they see fit to accommodate themselves. UPDATE: Was told by the owner to email my contact information and that someone from upper management would contact me. Here it is Wednesday evening and still haven't heard from anyone and the administrator in Flora didn't seemed too concerned with the accusation that his h nurse made against my fiance. More concerned about money than anything else.

We love visiting Heritage Woods of Flora! The place is amazing...I can't believe this assisted living facility is open to all income levels...this is the best!
