Not all we were told came to be true about their facility. While the care of my mother has been fairly good there are issues in communications with the staff and amongst the staff. A fire on the outside of one of the homes that melted the siding, on the south side, was not repaired until well over 2 months later, along with the fence between the 2 houses, also very damaged. The appearance of the outside seems to not have an importance. What one sees of the outside has a lot to do with what they perceive of the inside. I had to ask about the hedges being trimmed back and they were, but there was an attitude about it that was not right. The fact is I should have never had to say anything. It should be part of the routine grounds keeping. Once again I am right back in the same situation where I have to say something about the upkeep of the outside. With the amount charged for each resident that stays there, money should not be an issue regarding the upkeep and appearance. The amount of turn over with the caregiver staff is unfortunate. There really needs to be at least 2 caregivers in the evening between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. My wife and I have had a number of discussions about moving my mother out of there and into our home, given some of the issues that have come up. This has been weighing very heavy on our minds. For the most part I've had no issues with the care givers themselves.
