Chevy Chase House offers a warm, friendly and 'home-like' environment for residents and family members. This caring attitude is evident throughout the organization, from Sales, to Nursing, Maintenance, Dining, Reception/Concierge Services, and Administrators. All staff respond with a smile or hug, are attentive and respectful of residents' needs, and best of all, are good at their jobs! The programs and activities have something for everyone--outings for more able bodied to art and movies for others. Happy Hour occurs every day, after which residents gather around a TV and watch the news together--just like a family might do. The food is delicious--it arrives hot, and is delivered in short order by pleasant, smiling waitstaff who make an effort to get to know the residents' likes and needs while dining. The Nurses and Aides also work hard to get to know residents and to stay on top of their physical needs and medication management. They are also quick to notify family members should they notice any side effects or changes in health. With the opening of Legacy Healthcare Services on the lobby level, Chevy Chase House is now more of a 'one-stop shop', offering therapy services for residents without the need to leave the building. In short, we are very happy with my husband's experience at Chevy Chase House so far. We are very grateful for all of their help and support at a very difficult time. We encourage anyone reading this review to consider this assisted living facility for themselves or their loved ones should the need arise.

Hello I am giving Three stars for The Chevy Chase house,.Mainly because of the Respectable interactions.I experienced while working there, with the Awesome Residents (@Chevy Chase house)I am saddened to report, for the 1month that I worked there, the negatives started to accumulate. One being terribly understaffed, second organization ( who does what, when &/ or how)The third, is what helped, My decision to resign. Not being payed, at the appropriate time, lack of communication or, someone just not turning in My timesheet for whatever reason Just because This did not just happen once but twice, & mind you I was, an on call employee so the timesheet was, not a lengthy one. However I was looked over, & financially during these times, of Covid-19. Everyone is enduring struggle in one way or another.I have at this point been contacted by someone that someone is working on My pay, that I was to receive on Friday.I am in hope that the Services & Communication improves with Staff & Employees at the Chevy Chase houseThank you

My mother has been at CCH since 2018. There's a lot to like about the residence. Why we picked it-- 1. the location; 2. the rooms; 3. related services; 4. diversity of staff and residents. Located on Connecticut Avenue, it's fairly easy to get around DC. Even better, some great amenities are just nearby-- a public library, a grocery, a CVS, and (for grandkids) a major DC toy store. My mother's room is among the largest I have seen in DC senior residences. The Physical therapy in house is very good. Finally, if you or the possible resident care about diversity-- then CCH offers that in abundance. The background of residents is quite compelling. I am fond of many of the staff-- particularly in the dining room. The nursing has had some turn over, but I think the head nurse, Kim, is going to stick with CCH and she's very good. The food was perhaps better in the first year of being on the Meridian corporate plan, but, I think they will need to revamp this continually. More chicken thighs! The rest of the chicken cooks too dry! The parking situation could be managed better. (I don't even have a car, but the fact that I am bringing this up points to a major detraction that others mention.) FOR EXAMPLE-- CCH could help the residents apply for DC visitor parking passes for visiting health aides, etc. They have brought in more events staff in the past year. I think there could be more variety of offerings. In particular, more experts to talk with residents. But, it's pretty good there. My mother's quality of life is better there than alone in my sister's house. So, we're pretty happy.

DO NOT leave your loved one in the care of the management at Chevy Chase House. They exploit and abuse the elderly for the corporate financial gain of Meridian.BEWARE! DO NOT TRUST YOUR ELDERLY LOVED ONES TO THESE EVIL PEOPLE
