My mother is very content at SDS. Gets the help she needs and has the amount of independence she can handle. Good care tailored to her needs.

The people here are crazy you tell yhem you quit but they keep calling for you to go back. If dont answer them they think theres a problem at home so they call the cops twice for a welfare check on you. Knowing you are ok but they only want what they want.

My father is under hospice care here, the staff are overworked and understaffed. My father is to be checked on, changed and moved from side to side every 2 hours. The morning caretakers work well together but the afternoon and overnight staff leave alot to be desired. Between my mother, sister and I we are with my father 7 days a week and 16 hours a day so that we make sure that he eats. There is no consistency with the care staff but I dont blame them. Between bathing residents, changing them, taking the to and from the med room and dining room they also have to do the residents laundry. My father pays good money here for the care but it is very sub par. The day shift is very good about coming in every 2 hours but after 3pm until my mother leaves no one comes in to check on my father, turn him or change him. As far as the night shift is concerned I have come in the mornings early and he is uncovered had crap caked and dried on his back side and hips as well as the chuck being soiled. He is soaked through which is very difficult for my father because his kidney functions are bad and he doesnt urinate alot. For the amount of money that my father is charged to reside here it does not equate to the care he gets. The staff for the most part is great but overwhelmed.....
