Wondering what the rent could be. A friend is low income. Is on the waiting list for one of the assisted living units on Family Care. They were told they were eligible for something through Family Care when unit opens up. But were not told how much rent is.

My mother lives at Library Square for the past 3 years. It was not an easy decision as she has lived in the home she grew up in for 77 years! She was having a lot of difficulty going up the stairs, getting in the shower and being able to maintain her home. Moving to Library Square has made her life so much easier and she also has benefited from being able to socialize with her peers. Her moving to Library Square also has given our family piece of mind that she is safe and able to keep her independence which is very important to her. We are very thankful for all Library Square has done for my mom!

I strongly recommend Library Square to anyone looking for a warm, loving compassionate place for themselves or their loved ones. The services are top notch, but its really the people that make Library Square such a special place. It is not a 'nursing home' like many of us view them...rather, it is like an extended family home, with loving care, many amenities and outstanding services. Truly 5 stars!! My father lived at Library Square for approximately 3 years (2014-2017) until his Alzheimer's required a move to another Laureate Property. The staff was incredible--they treated my father like family. My father struggled with living on his own after my mother died in October 2012. He was pretty 'old school' and was not eating properly or keeping up with cleaning, grooming and other tasks. By late 2013 he had lost a lot of weight and his health was starting to decline. My brothers and I looked at a number of options and decided to move Dad to Library Square. The location was perfect. It is in central West Allis, close to restaurants, shopping (he had his car for the first year), fire/police, hospitals and the library. The staff impressed us with their unique mixture of compassion and professionalism. The apartments were perfectly sized, clean and modern. He would enjoy meals, maid service and activities. Dad would even be able to bring his beloved cat, Jasper! Dad started in Independent Living. He immediately thrived...he gained 10 pounds (much needed) in the first month! He particularly enjoyed the activities for Veterans and the proximity to the library next door.We moved Dad to the Assisted Living category after a year or so as his dementia progressed. He had onsite nursing assistance with medication, bathing and other tasks. He had the benefit of onsite doctors (including mental health care) so he could go when necessary even after he gave up driving. He was able to attend church onsite. The small grocery store in house even began to stock some of his favorites after he was no longer able to go to the local grocery stores! All of the staff was amazing...it was like having an extended family watching out for Dad (very important to me as I live in California). Library Square is a special place with warm, wonderful people. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a great place to retire comfortably (who wants to shovel their own snow, right?!) or a new home for aging parents who need some assistance with daily living.
