Great staff and wonderful place.

I've volunteered here for eight months, not only with the 'fun activities' side but permitted to wander the halls and knock on anyone's door to offer computer help. This seems like the kind of place anyone would love to stay when they get old. Activities are varied and well-attended, such as quiz games with a group of young people from local schools. I've never seen a staff member be rude or even impersonal, and the best of them seem to know every resident's personality and personal history like a caring friend. The environment is clean, seasonally decorated, and designed for accessibility. I get the sense that people understand the safety requirements of the job and comply with them.Having assisted living connected with long-term care seems very handy, as I see people going back and forth after surgeries or if one spouse isn't doing as well as the other one. The Main Street cafeteria is very affordable and has an extremely healthy selection of foods (I believe the residents get the same). Wi-Fi is available, though a bit spotty in long-term care. You may not be able to afford this place even on the maximum Social Security payment, but if you can get in you should have no major worries and live in comfort. At least that's how it looks to me.
