My good friend has lived in The Chopin (independent apartments) since April of 2017 and loves it there! He lives in a reasonably priced, compact 2 BR on the 2nd floor. He enjoys the luxury of a built in washer and drier in his apartment and a walk-in shower. I notice that this place is CONSTANTLY working on upkeep and renovation, so the place always looks brand new. The Chopin offers amenities of a weekly free shuttle to local grocery/department stores, beauty/barbershop, North Shore Bank that is open 1 morning and 1 afternoon a week, covered parking for a fee, a coffee shop in the lobby area, and a handful of organized activities throughout the month. Many residents organize activities on their own, so I think this is a positive sign of an active senior community. My friend and a handful of other residents at The Chopin pay cash for reasonably priced meals ($5-$7 currently) at the assisted living building next to their building. Folks can either be served at the assisted living dining room or they can pay a small fee to have meals boxed up and pick them up in The Chopin lobby. So far, my friend really has no real complaints about The Chopin. If this description sounds appealing to you, feel free to call them to schedule a tour. I think there often is a waiting list for apartments since they offer so much for a reasonable price.
