Seriously concerned about the skilled care beyond service provided to the client residents at this relatively small memory care unit. Many young assistants in the memory care unit lack training and respect for serving at a fast food let alone for our elders. Training Improvements in who the client is, attentiveness, dress, mannerism, speech, and listening could go a long way. Meals a pleasure of the day are often horrors here. Some memory care residents are not dressed before they are brought to the dining area and handled in manners so bed clothes are lifted exposing them. Thats abusive and offensive to those others in attendance.Meals often served luke warm or cold, sitting around on trays in plain view waiting to be served. Some residents need assistance with eating and if you ask for help that doesnt mean force feeding to the point they choke. Abusive and dangerous. As a frequent visitor I was shocked. Stories of people crying for help at night went unanswered. One resident saying they woke up with someone else in their bed at night. Residents afraid to say anything about their concerns or complaints. Theft from rooms. Not all the residents in memory care are seriously suffering from dementia. They are more scared and silenced here than any place Ive been to. In the time my parent was here The Heritage changed management three times. The memory care unit was the least of its concerns. Sad.

Only gave it one star because there was no option for zero stars. Family member lived in their Memory Care facility for over two years. Complete management and staff turnover every three months. Staff left residents sitting in their own feces, rooms smelled of urine, nothing was ever cleaned. Pills found on the floor, proving that staff never made sure residents took all of their medications; they didn't seem to care that missed doses could KILL someone. Brought home resident from the hospital on a Friday to find his unit's smoke alarm beeping from a dying battery; staff members gave every excuse in the book for not putting in a new battery (I had one) and were going to leave him in a room with a beeping smoke alarm UNTIL MONDAY. Owner talks a good game, citing that they 'strive to provide the highest quality of care', but they fail spectacularly. All they seem to care about is if your check clears. Your loved one would be better off in a hut in the woods than in this facility.

My mother was in the Assisted Living for 2`years, she enjoyed living there. She had fun with the Activities and made many friends who miss her. She passed away at St Mary's on 7/24/2016. She loved the RA's who helped her with her medications. One RA in particular who would come in singing; it made mom's day. When you walk into Heritage, it looks like a comfortable ski lodge especially in the winter with the warm inviting fireplace beckoning you to get some hot chocolate and curl by the fire with a good book!!!
