Shelly is a cna on the floor and I worked with her 6/25/2020 on section 2. She was very rude and her behavior was unacceptable. She isnt a manager or lead and acts as such. I am not your child. I could only imagine why they have such a turn over rate. I will not be returning back to this facility. I asked her to help me with a resident and she threw her hands up in the air and said she couldnt and proceeded to make disgusting rude comments in front of residents. There was no teamwork or inclusivity or respect. Residents needs always comes first. I then sat down to simply feed a resident and she came up to me and said no sitting as if Im her child. Please avoid at all cost. Not worth working with co workers who do not put residents first and team work.

I recently went through the process of coming to understand that my mom needed to move within Layton Terrace (LT) from the assisted living wing to a wing that provides more staff oversight. Mom moved to her new apartment in August.I have long been uncomfortable contemplating how much I did not know about the changes mom is and will be going through at this stage of her life (she is 92 years old). Melissa, the Director of Nursing, when discussing this with me reminded me that Layton Terrace staff was not only there for mom, but was there to support me as well.It has been a great comfort to me that Melissa and Sandi (LT Executive Director) identified this needed change, brought it up gently at the proper time and helped me navigate through the personal and practical layers of this decision.Of course, the care given to our moms/dads is everyone's focus. Also important and maybe overlooked is the important point that staff recognizes and provides needed support to us all as we move with our loved ones through their changes.

Staff is caring and kind, and the grounds are well maintained. They work hard to give the seniors a nice home.

This facility takes pretty good care of their residents so I cant say anything negative regarding patient care, however they treat their employees terribly. They are constantly short staffed, and will repeatedly call you on your days off to come in to work. Or they will just randomly change your schedule without notifying you. They are also short on nursing staff, and will let caregivers be the nurse supervisor when they cant get an actual nurse to work the shift... which is really weird and unsafe. I think this place has potential to be a good facility, but for right now they have a lot of management issues they need to fix. And their DON Melissa is an idiot. Maybe if they got rid of her, and found someone that actually has a brain theyd be a good facility. But for now, they are just average.

Beautiful campus. Staff are very friendly and the residents can always find activities to participate in. Would highly recommend Layton Terrace.
