Bay Road Place

Since October 2015 we have renovated and hired a new administrator and nurse. The residents and families are so pleased with the changes, we have had nothing but compliments since. We hope to fix the poor reputation from the past. :)

I have a family member in Bay Road Place, and I am full of anxiety at all points in time because of the manager and her hateful mean ways toward the residents and girls that work so hard there. I have witnessed her scream and yell at the girls while they are running, yes running to answer the call lights. They are highly understaffed, and the Manager believes that you don't do anything nice for residents or 'it will set a precedent' and learn to expect it. REALLY? One of the workers there was publicly humiliated in front of her peers, and the other residents for trying to feed a resident who obviously has dementia and is so thin she she looks anorexic. This poor women was at one time eating her napkin, and she said don't you dare help her when one young girl tried. It's very sad, because it's obvious that these girls are run to stumps, while I have watched the manager play games on her phone. I am moving my relative out of there as soon as I find another place for them. Mike the owner is a nice man, but he needs to wake up or his manager is going to ruin his business there.

I was very unhappy at Bay Road Place. The administrator seemed so unconcerned about the happiness of the residents. I will never go back there voluntarily.The residents who need a lot of personal care were ignored.
