DO NOT SEND YOUR FAMILY THERE!!Poor staffing, Nurses sit at the desk all day while the aides run nonstop, no one answers call lights; My dad was there for a month for therapy after he had a stroke and if we had not been there every single day, I'm not sure how he would've been cared for. On his last day there, we were told he hadn't had his seizure meds or stroke meds for the prior 3 days!!! You can't just stop these medications! I immediately called my dad's neurologist and had him admitted back to Ruby, where, guess what, he had new strokes!!! Wow! I wonder why - hmmm, because they didn't give him his meds!!! I asked if they tried to give them in food and the nurse says, we can try that. I SHOULDN'T be the one to ask that, it should be something they know to do!! And why weren't we told daily they had issues with his meds. We were there every day and it was never told til we had a care meeting and then we were told it had been for the past 3 days. The aides are great, the physical therapy dept is great. That's it. We witnessed unanswered call lights for hours - some were on when we got there and still on when we left for the day. Poor staffing. Not enough aides while the nurses sat at the desk or in the area behind the desk. If your family is not alert and oriented and able to do some things for themselves, i would not recommend sending them there.

I knew my husband was in a wonderful facility as soon as I walked in the main doors. The place smelled clean and was clean, unlike a few other facilities I had visited. The entire staff at the Madison Center are absolutely wonderful. They are all very caring and are really good with the residents. My husband has adjusted to his new environment quickly and is always smiling and happy. All of the therapists that work with my husband (he has MS and dementia), are great. Physically, he is doing much better than he was at home. The food always looks and smells delicious, and the portions are good. I am so thankful that my husband has found a safe, friendly and caring facility. I don't worry about him at all. If I can't visit him, I usually call and speak to his nurse(s). They give me an update on his status and also gives him messages from me. My stress level has decreased immensely now that he's living at the Madison Center. A special thank you to everyone for making this difficult decision less painful. I would recommend this facility to anyone who wants their loved one(s) to be in a safe and caring home.
