My family and I received a blessing the day Dawn @ Caleo Bay had a room and home for our precious father!!! Dawn and her team were so kind and welcoming to us. The facility is very nice and so are the people who care for all the residents. We now have a peace of mind knowing that our dad will be safe and sound there. God bless Dawn, her team, and the residents at Caleo Bay...

Do not send your loved one a JEA facility! Care plans are not followed, management teams have NO integrity, and we have found them to be big BULLIES! We just got my dad home from a facility in Clinton, UT and it has been nothing short of a nightmare after having to shower him every time we went to see him, a trip to the ER and being advised by the ER to take him home for 4 days while starting the new lasix medication, and finally after a month of sores on his backside because they wouldn't take him to the bathroom or clean him properly after they made him mess himself, we've brought him home again to heal his behind. How dare, they or anyone else, think they can treat our elderly this way - taking advantage of the vulnerable situation caretakers find themselves in or a loved one. The sores will heal but the stress and exhaustion may never. We tried to follow their requests to email (week 1) them about concerns immediately and to give them 48 hours...however, nothing started to change until the start of week 5 - most things, sadly, did not. Good sales pitch but they can't deliver - they just want your money!

The facility I am referencing is located in Urbandale Iowa. After careful consideration I chose to place my parents here. Well maintained building and grounds. Current Administrative staff all present as professionals.Unfortunately 1 individual who happens to be a key staffer on the medical team is notably problematic and from the perspective of many is in need of immediate coaching (Apparently this RN has been on staff for awhile)The facility has good CMA caregivers but frequent turnover is becoming a major concern.Another noteworthy issue is the long response times associated with residents getting timely assistance after the call light is turned on. I have personally witnessed up to 30 minute wait times which is unacceptable under any ones standards . It definitely appears that staff is stretched, overworked. (And probably underpaid) FOOD is fair. Amounts provided to residents is ample, and dessert is served daily as well as snacks. Activities are provided and done so withCareful thought and preparation. There is an onsight beauty shop which is enjoyed by many residents. In summary this facility is a bit pricy but they do provide 24 hour on sight nursing staff which ( for me and my family, is an important feature)That said, I will encourage you to Give this facility a second look however for the sake of your loved one(s), Always trust but verify. In other words should you choose this facility do make you're presence known often. Ask questions ...and always make a habit to look at and listen to you're loved one(s) After all, they still have a voice.SEPTEMBER, 2017.

JEA is meeting the needs of our seniors in the Tri-Cities. Wonderful care and concern for the people that live there.
