I rated this place a 2 only because I have seen worse and I feel that the room and cleanliness of the facility is huge, and sunnyside rehabilitation has done a good job of Keeping rooms and bathroom tidy. Thats very important. However, their care style is horrible! The average wait time is 45 min or more for them to respond to my dads call Light- meaning he needs help. What if he was choking or on the ground injured?! Someone could at least pop in and see if everythings ok and say they will be right in. And the FOOD, the food looks like cat or dog food and is served cold to my dad in his room. Its literally unbelievable that they think its ok to be served. Im thankful my dad will not be having a long stay there, and Im thankful there are places like this for emergencies but I feel a duty to speak out for the others who are not as fortunate to have family to speak out for them. Also, the therapy itself has been wonderful, I dont think its a nursing issue I think its a facility issue that isnt supplying enough staff or doesnt have very good quality control. I wonder if they eat the dog food themselves?!

My grandfather is there and they pushed the light last night because he needed to use the bathroom. 2 hours went by and nobody came. This is ridiculous what if it was an emergency. Now they are trying to say that nobody can stay with him from midnight to 5 am. They say its a policy of theirs but isnt it a policy that you check in on patients. I will be contacting whoever I need to. Oh and the nurses are just laughing making jokes not even doing their job. Wish I could give them negative stars!

No. Just no. my grandfather was here and the conditions they left his room and him in was VERY UNACCEPTABLE! another patient had peed on the floor in his room and the staff never cleaned it up until the NEXT DAY! his room smelt like pee. When my grandfather wanted to go to sleep- it took the staff 30 minutes to come to our room! 30 minutes he was on the wheelchair and wanted to go to sleep- the nurses were chatting, laughing, giggling and gossiping. BEWARE YOUR LOVED ONE THINGS WILL GET STOLEN. Nursing staff admitted to taking things but still worked there. Then we noticed bruising on his arms and legs! I am speaking with a lawyer about this- with witnesses, pictures, notes and recordings I have.
