My mother lived at Regency for several years, three in a cottage and three in the main building with assisted living. I was there when I moved her into the main building. I remember setting at her dining table with a Regency staff telling us she would be able to live there the rest of her life, even if she needed hospice care. On a Monday morning, after my sister had spent the weekend with Mom, we received a call that they were sending her to the emergency room so see why she was not up to par. The hospital kept her as an observation patient because she did not meet admission criteria. We were informed by Regency that they could not take her back because she was to high level of care. There was not any notice, just refuse to take her back. I went and moved her out of her apartment. This is not the way residents should be treated. I have heard others there are very unhappy with the way our Mom was treated, and there have been similar reports from others of resident dumping.
