Regardless of the reviews or the star ratings I have to say I am very pleased here. When I first arrived of course, there were many bumps in the road due to the hospital transfer papers being incorrect. The lead nurse Annie and the doctor along with multiple other people fixed these issues and my stay is comfortable and relaxing. Elizabeth Rogers my tech last night was wonderful and got me everything I needed. My nurse Lutricia Siscorn is very attentive and pleasurable. These are just a couple names of the staff that have made my stay so far excellent.

My close friend was a patient here twice. Good and kind and professional staff. They take an interest in your love ones. Clean and good food. Activities. Iwould rate a 5.

While I will not go into the specifics of all of the concerns I have, my mother loves this facility. The family on the other hand, has quite a few issues with the director of nursing, administrator, Dr.'s for the facility and the Optum PA (who seems to be the only person who knows what she is doing). I cannot advise not to place a loved one at this facility; I would say if you do, make sure that you stay up on everything that happens, all changes, all diagnosis and prognosis. My mother is at end of life and the compassion, empathy from the administration, reception, social workers is non existent.

A family member was admitted to ManorCare in Gig Harbor, WA for 9 days. During her stay, I visited family member every single day while she was a client of ManorCare and the level of communication, or lack thereof, between Optum Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Business Administrators deeply concerns me. Although, the aforementioned staff members appeared to be caring and empathetic to my family member's needs, I must admit that I was alarmed that there were only two (2) visits by the Optum Nurse Practitioner for the duration of my family member's stay at the facility; pain medications were not provided in the evening hours by registered nurses on several occasions leaving my family member to give up ringing the call bell for the RN; and my relative was discharged with no medications to last 24 hours, instead we were provided prescriptions, which I attempted to fill at our local drug store - only to be informed by the pharmacist that the prescriptions were not on LEGAL pharmacy paper. There was no official seal on the bottom right corner of prescription, according to the pharmacist.Further, I contacted Optum's Nurse Practioner's office where I was greeted by someone covering for the original Nurse Practioner who was caring for my relative. This alternate person was explained the situation, who then assured me that the pharmacist was mistaken and that the prescription was legitimate. The Nurse Practioner, name unknown, continued to misinform me that indeed the original prescription was LEGAL. In addition, this woman proceeded to lecture me on my inability to listen to her explanation as I was completely frustrated having a person suffering from pain due to lack of prescribed medications. Unfortunately, I found it difficult to trust that her explanation was accurate when I was receiving conflicting information from Optum, ManorCare, and the pharmacist. Later, I was informed that INDEED the prescription was NOT written on LEGAL paper AND that a staff member would need to HAND DELIVER a legitimate one with the proper seal. I believe there is much to be learned from this experience for the respective agencies and/or organizations involved. A person's life, an elderly one in this case, with severe pain due to several operations, is at the mercy of our bureaucratic healthcare system (for profit and not for profit) who are eager and extremely organized in expediting admission of patient to their facilities while urging immediate signing of arbitration papers. Yet, there isn't an equal amount of meticulous work done to care for and properly discharge a patient/client.

I was a resident here for much of 2017 and all the nurses, aides, and staff are highly compassionate, and well trained. It felt like they were taking care of me like I was one of their own family members. I was always kept up-to-date on my care and if I had any questions, or just needed someone to give me a laugh, Tiffany Stevenson Director Of Nursing hanled my concerns and always tried to brighten my day. I highly recomend this facility, they will make sure you are taken care of well.
