Response to Jenny Marshall. Hi Jenny,After looking into this further, it looks as though your mom was discharged to a hospital after several falls and subsequently was placed in skilled nursing facility for rehabilitation. At that time, your Mom was no longer appropriate to reside SAFELY in our Community and was beyond our licensed care levels.. We ALWAYS strive to have discharged residents return if they can recover to a level appropriate for our setting but we cannot by law do so unless the resident can safely reside in our setting AND we have the capability of meeting their care needs. Once a resident like your Mom has been discharged to a hospital or skilled nursing facility, they are no longer considered to be our resident by law as they are in the care of a hospital or nursing home. As you know, your moms care at our Community was paid for in part under the DSHS Medicaid program. As a courtesy, DSHS provides reduced compensation to providers like us to hold the room for up to 20 day following the residents discharge to a hospital or nursing facility with the hope a resident recovers and can return. This DSHS paid bed hold expired while your mother was still in rehab and, at that time and for weeks following, there was no indication of when or if she would be healthy enough to be discharged back to Assisted Living and our Community. Even though the DSHS bed hold expired AND there remained uncertainty about your mothers condition and the ability to return to our community, we offered to hold the room if you would be willing to pay a negotiated hold rate. You declined and, therefore, we had no other choice but to ask you to vacate the room and , as a courtesy, we provided up to an additional week or more for you to do so. The thirty day notice requirement you mention in your review, as it relates to non-payment, only applies to residents currently occupying a room; not residents who have already been discharged to another health care facility, whose bed hold has expired, and who are unable to return because of care needs. I just want you to know, and I mean this from the bottom of my heart, that we really do love and care about your mom. But we cannot hold a room indefinitely without compensation and, most importantly, we cannot accept back a resident who is medically and physically inappropriate for our care setting. . We really do wish you and your mom nothing but the very best moving forward. Please feel free to e-mail me if you have any other questions or concerns. Joe KilkellyCEO CarePartners Management Group

We used to LOVE THIS PLACE. My mom had lived there since September 2006. However this last month she needed to spend some time in rehab due to a fall. The fall was NOT Vineyards fault. Due to my moms brain injury it happens more than we would like. After the 20 day bed hold that Medicaid allows had passed. The director of this location, Laurel Simms, issued my mother a discharge notice. While she is still in rehab. Only giving her 7 days, 30 day written notice is required by law. Now she isnt allowed to return to her home or say goodbye to her friends. Washington state RCS is now involved and they WILL be issued at least one citation if not more. Almost 14 years at a place and this is how they treat a resident. GO SOMEPLACE ELSE. When I have the official citation information I will most certainly update. Oh and my mom is currently their Facebook photo...the one with Elvis.

We were extremely pleased with the care our loved one received at Vineyard Park at Bothell. The staff at Vineyard Park was truly caring, extremely professional and very much a well organized and well managed facility. We were impressed with the quality of the facilities, the availability of activities and amenities. There was a sense of community among the residents and staff alike. Great team and great facility at Vineyard Park.

What a Great Fantastic Company and Staff! I am a vendor and work with them daily and have seen how compassionate and hard working the staff is. Kudos to the entire team for their great care, integrity and hard work! If you have not had a chance to stop in for a tour and meet their staff at any of the communities, take the time out to do so soon!
