The Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center staff have always treated me with professionalism, courtesy, and a caring attitude. Whenever working on a patient referral or an event I can count on a responsive reply from any staff member, a clean environment to work in, and easy access to the building.

This place is not as caring as they portray. Some of the staff members are very uncaring. I have see them take meals away from elderly. I made them bring it back. Yeah it was a cold hamburger. Treat them with disrespect. And much more. Just remember as long as they chart the order per person. That's all that matters to the office. Staff can do whatever they want and they will cover it up. Hopefully the people who live there start getting their food , medicine and care as they should.

Waddell Nursing and Rehab is a well respected facility in the community. Holding a VA Contract is extremely important and is one of very few in Southwest VA. Waddell continues to show up as a national leader- with low readmission to hospitals and successful rehab. They are easy to work with, staff is trained very well- and they keep the facility and the grounds surrounding clean. They partner with many outside agencies to help transition residents home, following a short stent of rehab or allowing additional care providers assist in long term care settings as well as end of life. They treat the residents with dignity, and management goes above and beyond to keep the spirits of the staff lifted. If looking for a place for your loved one in the galax area, look no further! Waddell nursing and Rehab is amazing!

My Dad was sent here from the hospital for physical therapy. His second night here, he got out of bed and fell across the room. The only reason the staff knew was because his roommate yelled for 15 minutes. The food was inedible. It would take hours to get someone to come and change him. His last night there, he apparently choked and ingested his vomit. I got a call the next day that he was going back to the hospital. If they had someone checking on the patients more than once a day, it would be helpful. Dad laid there all night choking on his vomit before anyone thought to check on him. I wouldnt send my dog to this place.

My neighbors mother went ther after a stroke. I didnt know what to expect but she made wonderful improvements. Very glad places like this are here to help. Dont let the location fool you. It does good work. Staff were friendly wen I went to visit with her and caring. Seemed to take her in like family
