The Laurels of Charlottesville

Working in this facility was anything but nice. Theres a lot that needs improving. We ALWAYS worked short staffed and staff never wanted to help when they were at work. Definitely needs fixing.

Im a 92 year old resident here at the Laurels. The care is good, I have made a lot of friends being here. I would recommend it to family and friends looking for care.

I'm a resident at the laurels and I love being here. The staff are wonderful and do anything they can to help. I would recommend the Laurels to anyone.

My aunt came for rehab and the staff have been great. It's not as fancy as another building we toured, but sometimes the people make a bigger difference than the building. The rooms are a good size, but could use a little updating. Other than that,we have no complaints.

DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONES HERE! I am an experienced nurse and have even worked in a nursing home myself and the care my grandmother received here is unacceptable. The staff does not give safe or quality care. They do not round on their patients for hours at a time even when my grandmother was calling for assistance to the bathroom and was caused to have an accident after receiving no help on multiple occasions. She also did not see a single doctor or nurse practitioner for DAYS after being admitted. At first I tried to be understanding, but my grandmothers health continued to decline and no one seemed to care even when I requested to speak to a doctor. We ended up having to leave the facility on our own taking my grandmother in our personal vehicle to the emergency room to be treated for things that should have been treated days ago. I cannot express how disappointing it is to know as a fellow health care provider that their are facilities out there like the laurels that families are counting on to care for their loved ones only to receive the horrendous care they will receive here.
