We put my father at this facility for three years and overall we think this community was on the whole a positive place for my father to live. We started in assisted living the moved to independent living. Both were positive experiences. What we loved most about this facility were the staff. The people at Highland Cove from the people in the administration to the activities staff care deeply about the residents. Some individual staff truly went out of the way. I believe the staff are there because they want to support the lovely residents who live there. There are tons of activities (unfortunately my father didn't want to do most of them) but the staff were always working to engage the residents. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and the best of any facility in SLC. And the apartments are spacious. And finally, you receive good value for your investment. And this was important as we were looking to save some money but not compromise on care. You will generally get quality care for your loved one and won't break the bank. Was it perfect? No. We had a few qualms with things like losing internet a few too many times, the loss of a driver for scenic drives (leaving residents without an option for quite some time), and a leak that never seem to get fixed. But honestly, wherever you go, you will find something. So on the whole if you are thinking about your loved one, Highland Cove is an option worth investigating.

This place is horrible. The CNA's need more training, the nurses need more staff and as far as the administration, just ridiculous. The PT department is less than desirable. They leave their patients sitting in soiled depends for hours. The nurses don't chart anything. I could go on and on, but long story short this place is a dump. If you care about your loved ones don't take them here.

I dont want to say my name, because were in the process of removing our grandmother from here. We just have to get through some red tape as far as getting her contract taken care of. The staff is absolutely rude when it comes to dealing with the residence. Ive overheard a couple different staff members say very derogatory things about the people theyre supposed to care about. For example one caregiver said to the other I wish we could just lock these people away and not have to deal with . Thats what these places are here for is to care for people who cannot care for themselves or their family cannot care for him. These kind of comments make me sick, Ive heard really good things about Brookdale and we will be moving my grandmother to there as soon as possible. Other family members and friends have had a couple people at Brookdale Senior living and said the staff genuinely cares about their residence. They know who the residents are what they like what they prefer, and know about aspects of their life so they can actually make a connection with the residents that are there to care for. The activities are terrific at Brookdale and a matter of seem to have their teams completely invested in dial van to what theyre doing. The mate nets on the place is done so well at the housekeeping makes the place look brand new. Every senior living facility did things like Brookdale there would not be these horror stories out there about facilities that care for the elderly. If you remotely care about your loved ones do not send them here. I dont know about other places I only know about this one at Brookdale. I would give them a -5 stars if I could. After we move our grandmother into Brookdale we will write a report on that but from what we hear their heads and shoulders above everybody else

I just visited a my mom. I had lunch with her in the dinning room and the food was delicious. The dinning room had new carpet and fresh paint. The staff that I meet was very kind and helpful. Very nice.
