This is the second retirement community my father has lived in and it is great. Clean, responsive maintenance and administrative teams and appropriately priced. I would have given it 5 stars but the dining experience is good but not great. Food is above average and the menu selection is great however, the service is slow. The dining staff works hard but has a difficult time keeping enough staff to make the experience to rate a five star. All in all a very nice place for seniors.

My mother lives at Independence Hill. We shopped quite a few assisted living places before choosing IHAL. My father died last year and we needed to move my mother. She has Parkinsons and Dementia. We interviewed several places and found this one to be best. First off, the rent at IHAL remains the same until the resident leaves. They know their clientele. These people are on a fixed incomes. My mother needs additional services. Most places have an al-carte service and reassess needs monthly. Well, that can get expensive really quickly. Again - IHAL knows their clientele they have a certain amount of services for a flat fee per month. The exact services an elderly person needs. This includes giving her medication three times a day, checking on her, bathing her, and several other things. The staff at IHAL are so caring. They hug and talk to my Mom. They treat her so kind. She loves them. The staff is good to us we can call anytime and get information or have them check on Mom. They even know how to deal with my Moms hallucinations they know to take it seriously and to comfort her. We visit Mom all the time, but when we arent there we know she is well looked after. If anything happens they call us. Its such a great place!!
