As far as Nursing Homes go, it's okay. The facility was nice and the people were pleasant and well-trained. My parents were only there for a few weeks, but I've been inundated with medical bills since they left. Their insurance carrier was not considered when doctors, drugs and lab work were requested, so only one bill out of 22 was covered, in network care. The doctor used by the facility was not in network, nor were the labs. The insurance did not cover their specific medications unless the doctor requested an exception to the general rule, but the doctor never made the call/request, so none of their medications were covered. When my Dad attempted an escape 'from prison' over the wall at the end of the back yard of the facility, we were told they couldn't stay and had less than a week to find them another place. Since Dad was sent there by a related hospital, where he tried twice to escape, they should have known that this behavior was a possibility. The attempt to find another location and the move were difficult and traumatic.
