While it's older and spread out, the facility isn't overall too bad. The therapeutic staff are fantastic although there's no cohesiveness due to the fact that they almost all work irregular days and/or hours (or at additional facilities too). The facilities handyman is a great listener and very responsive, not to mention extremely proficient too. Most of the nurses are friendly, caring, attentive and fully capable (although a few have a predisposed attitude, are negligent or just go through the motions without conveying patient's feelings/concerns to those with authority). I was repeatedly left alone, in their huge community shower, because they were either short staffed or they didn't want to wash my body themselves. Once, while standing on a wet towel (placed on top of the tiled floor), I lost my balance and fell face first into the tiled shower wall chipping my front teeth (which they denied occurred there). The doctor doesn't seem to really care, lacks sympathetic compassion, doesn't explain or listen to you and appears to over prescribe multiple medications and/or dosage amounts in order to keep you zombie-like so you don't complain or make trouble. He isn't even there everyday and when he is, he quickly makes his rounds as fast as possible so he can leave.Although the rest of the daily staff are overworked and overwhelmed they're very caring, compassionate, sincerely respectful and professional towards every patient! The coordinator, Art, illustrates her deep care for both staff and patients each and everyday. While apparently reputable, she's seems to be fighting a financial strain on the facility because she insisted that I relinquish both my Medicare and Medicaid benefits, to them, in lieu of residential care plus a monthly personal allowance of just $30 (which doesn't even pay for my smartphone service each month, not to mention cigarettes). In fact, I was discharged when I refused to accept the terms of their standard contract and they would not negotiate with me to draw up a different (more favorable to me) new agreement. Instead, I was given an invoice for the services provided during my stay.Nonetheless, I would have to honestly commend them for their overall attempts to provide a safe, comfortable (for a nursing home) residential environment, along with overall adequate medical services, despite it's shortcomings.P.S. As I left I was given a free wheelchair (built from spare parts) to take with me.

Yes the building is old and Yes it's small but it's more personal. I would definitely recommend this facility. And it's kinda awesome that this is the oldest nursing home in Denton County.
