The care givers here are awesome, however it is apparent they are overworked, and understaffed. I have repeatedly tried to contact my father there, most of the time nobody answers the phone and if they do - rarely am I able to talk with my father. The facility is shut down to visitors so my only contact with him is through the staff.

The Staff and Caregivers are competent and kind. We were hesitant to move our father to east Texas from the metroplex, but thankfully we found The Lodge. Our Dad has been in Memory Care for almost a year at The Lodge and as it is an 'aging in place' community we hope to enjoy his company for years to come. We are so grateful to everyone who works there and thankful he is now close to family.

We searched many places in NE Texas to place my 87 yr old dad when it was apparent he needed more care then the family could give. I can't begin to tell you how relieved we were when we walked into the Lodge after checking the traditional nursing homes in (and out) of the area. The Lodge was a wonderful facility with terrific people. Dad could do somethings for himself, but needed help with medicines, sometimes dressing, and with meals and such. The Lodge was the perfect place for him and he loved it. Unfortunately his health was such that he was only there for a couple months before he passed, but it was thanks to the Lodge that his last two months were spend in comfort. He truly enjoyed his little 'apartment'. We would have never considered assistant living if it hadn't been for my stopping in on a spur of the moment, as the Lodge was very near where my brother worked. When we learned that they had an 'aging in place' license, meaning if his needs increased once he was placed he could get more help and not have to move to another facility, we were thrilled! So don't let the 'Assisted Living' label throw you. Check it out if you're trying to find the best place for a loved one! You won't be disappointed. It was even less expensive then a 'traditional nursing home'.Thank you Donna and all who work there, for helping dad's final months be better then we could have hoped. Dustie
