UPDATE: We had a chance to sit down with our Grandma's doctor. We went in depth with her medications.During this visit we found out that our Grandma's was removed from her medication at Brookdale and we were never informed. this particular medication dealt directly with her Alzheimer's. Once removed she would go downhill. Makes you wonder if it then lowers her ability on their scale for pricing and gives the right to charge more. No facility should change medicines without speaking to the person in charge in the family and that is exactly what happened here **..First, When we came in we met with Kelly. Nice till you ask her to actually do her job. We have an Alzheimer's family member there and asked for 6 months for her memory clock to be hung up. When I asked how long does it take she bit my head off, lied, and said our family member refuses to have a clock, and every time after that she would behave like she was in high school and turn her back on us and walk away. When we needed them to administer medicine ($500) a month I was asked twice to pick up meds. One she had never gotten before (OTC) and when I asked why I was told that ' We got it' and 'Don't worry about it'. The next time we got a call and a prescription was called in that I had to leave imm and get before the pharmacy closed because if she did not have it she would not get her meds that night. When asking why I had to go get a medicine that should be handled in house Kelly stopped communicating with me and we never knew what happened. We felt like they pushed us out of her treatment and acted like we put her there so they no longer needed to share anything with us. Twice, when I visited our family member was complaining about her back. I asked where her cane was. She did not know .. long story short TWICE not once she left her cane at Walmart on one of their outings and no one called us to tell us. I had to go on a hunt both times at Wal-mart to find her cane. One of the first things that happened was a flood in her room. Her brand new furniture was sitting in water. No one called. Instead they left her furniture sitting in it, fans running so the room was humid and inhabitable, and allowed this 85 yr old woman access to her room (they would have allowed her to sleep in the room. Mind you should would have to walk through the wet floor and on to her tile floor where should could then slip. When asking what was going to happen I was treated like a bother. They had to call the lady at that time in charge and she said to move her. Never got an answer as to why it flooded and why she was left in the room. We were told about all these activities. They were far and few between. This place is severely understaffed. The same people who run the place now serve plates, clean people, and clean up. How can you care for the people who so need it when you are doing everything. You have to stand outside and ring the bell. While you are waiting every room in the building has a speaker. These seniors are sleeping and they are woken up though the night. Our family member said it scares her). However, they told me nothing they could do about it. She pays for her room to be cleaned. Yet, it was not cleaned. I had to write in it to be cleaned. She had an accident on the floor. I watched for two weeks and the floor was not cleaned. Finally, I said something because it clearly was not going to be cleaned. One thing they sold us on was being able to come have lunch with her. Every week one of her grand kids and an adult would have lunch with her. The food is terrible. Starving college kids eat better. (There 1/4 chicken breast was 1/2 the size of my palm and dry) They just started to charge for that food ($5 if you pay cash and $7 if they have to charge it) To boot they have our dementia family member the paper saying REMEMBER to order your tickets in advance (wow, she can't remember what day it is).The place smells like urine, the floors are all ALWAYS sticky, residents constantly sit in the chairs that have cloth and urinate on them.

I have known the executive director, Lori Lee, professionally for many years and I have worked in the industry for over 10 years. So when I needed to transfer my father to a budget friendly assisted living that provided great care, I looked no further than Brookdale Georgetown. Lori Lee picked my father up from his previous assisted living to spend the morning at Brookdale Georgetown. She introduced him to residents she felt would be potential friends with him, showed him the apartment we were considering, and served him lunch. He was sold. Lori Lee and her staff even moved my father and his belongings to Brookdale Georgetown saving us time and money. The staff take great care of the residents and really take the time to get to know each one of them. I have heard a number of the staff say 'I treat the residents like they are my family'. My husband and I work full time so it can be very challenging taking a few hours off to take my father to necessary doctor's appointments. The extra service that allows the activities director, Cynthia , to not only transport my father to doctor's appointments, but also stay with him throughout the appointment, is well worth the nominal cost. Cynthia also goes above and beyond by communicating with us the outcome of the appointment and when the next one is. She also makes the appointment enjoyable for my father by taking him out to eat afterwards (his favorite). Lori Lee, Regina, and Cynthia communicate very well and often with me via email/text/phone calls whenever there is something my father needs, they are concerned about, or to share updates about his care. They are very responsive to emails and quick to act when I report a concern or have a question. Our family cannot express enough how grateful we are for Lori Lee and her remarkable team. Brookdale Georgetown IS my father's forever home.

LOVE the staff here. They are very caring and attentive to my Grandfather's needs as well as keeping the family in the loop at all times. There are great activities and social gatherings to keep him active and entertained. We are VERY pleased with everything Brookdale has to offer.

I've been a nurse with Brookdale for over 3 years. Recently, I was blessed to relocate to Georgetown and it has been a positive experience. I walk into the community and see the residents, their families along with the staff enjoying such a warm loving and welcoming atmosphere. This is one of many priceless experiences that makes Brookdale Georgetown a great place to live and work. We here at Brookdale Georgetown Enrich the Lives of those we serve with compassion, respect, Excellence and integrity.

Brookdale in Westlake. I was very disappointed that they preach so much how they are an equal opportunity employer and they don't want to hired anyone with a disability or have limitation. It was very frustrating to know a company that strive to be excellence in treating their employee and resident that they can discriminate against people with a disability. I wouldn't recommend this employer to anyone. I wonder why they have a large number of employee quitting on them. Very unprofessional and discrimination against people with disability.
