We have had the pleasure of working with HuntLeigh Care Homes for the past seven years. The owners, husband and wife-Hunt and Leigh, got into this business because they saw a need for high quality, round-the-clock care in a personalized, non-institutional setting. Their homes are meticulously maintained, well decorated and lovely to look at. And as those of us in this industry know, the true value lies in the care for the residents. HuntLeigh's vision hasn't faltered. They want to deliver the highest level of medical and custodial care for their residents. Their low caregiver-to-resident ratio makes this possible. The caregivers are constantly working. They are upbeat, warmhearted women who truly enjoy their work. In this industry, caregiver turnover is high. Hunt has been able to retain his caregivers for years. This is probably indicative of his treating his staff with the same generosity and compassion he shows to his residents. Hunt takes on each resident as if it were his own family member. He understands the complexity caring for elderly people and individualizes their care to maximize that person's quality of life. My father-in-law moved into the Waverly location after multiple stays in rehabilitation due to advanced Parkinson's disease. We were so relieved to find a place that could assist him with his increasing daily care and medical needs that also felt like home. We were impressed not only with the home environment, but with the care that he received from the staff. In particular, caregivers Perla and Catona took special care to update the family in a timely manner when any issue arose, while also making sure that we had peace of mind that he was well attended. We were always warmly welcomed when we came by to visit. As owner of Huntleigh Care Homes, Hunt was incredibly responsive and knowledgeable. We were so impressed with his commitment and hands on approach in the daily operations of care. In a time of great stress, Huntleigh Homes served as an anchor to help us in caring for our loved one!
