Do not leave your family members in the 'care' of this 'facility'. This home has extra rooms that are not in use, so the homeowner decided to take people in and care for them. She, the owner, claims to have extensive knowledge, but is not a nurse or certified in any way. She is the main, if not only person, caring for multiple people at a time. What she neglects to mention when people meet with her is the fact that she herself is suffering from an illness, lupus if I'm not mistaken. She can barely handle her own health problems, so why on earth would anyone want to leave their loved ones that need around the clock care in a place like this. She will make bold statements as far as the degree of care that she has to offer and how she will accomplish this, but it nothing more than smoke. After you've been dazzled by her claims, you will realize that you are paying her for work that she expects you to do on her behalf due to her being so overwhelmed. In my personal experience, 3 meals at predetermined times were guaranteed daily. However, with her illness she ends up sleeping late in the mornings and passing the set times, while residents are starving. Additionally, she claimed that she would run all errands (ie, pick up medications), but in the end going back and forth for all the refills were too much of a hassle for her. Personally, I feel that if someone decides to take on caring for the elderly they should be aware of all that it entails and be prepared to put in the work. This is clearly not the case here. Take my advice and entrust your loved ones to a reputable facility that has trained nurses on staff.
