I'm a nurse that has taken care of many patients in this location. I love the changes they've made this last year to get patients more involved in activities. I recommend them to anyone in the area when I get the chance. The owner is hands on and was even in there playing guitar for them today!

My mother was a resident of Avalon Carrollton during the last 2 years of her life. I chose this facility based on several factors, including proximity to my home, but especially due to the compassionate nature of the entire staff, management and owner. The facility is well maintained and comfortable for both residents and their loved ones. I was very pleased with the care my mom received and would recommend Avalon to others needing this type of facility for a family member.

This is the finest memory care facility I found after a very exhaustive search. The environment was clean and comfortable. The staff was both caring and competent and they made my loved one's comfort a top priority. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone looking to find the best possible care for their loved one.

Ive been at this company for 11 months I started with the company in January of this year 2018. I just decided to part ways from this company today. I worked at the location in Saint Louis for the most of the time I was with the company and not all was organized like this one isnt but it was manageable. This one here screams for help!!! I transferred from Saint Louis location about 2 months ago. So where should I start about this location....The director there cant direct to save her life (but try and tell you how to do your job (lol))she has her assistant manager to do all of her work. The company to cheap or to broke to pay for another cook so house two get served cold food. They hire whomever! Residnets stay with bruises skin tears they dont have experienced people working. Its suppose to be a assisted living meaning light lifting but its really a nursing home you deal with hoyers wheelchair and most of the residents cant do for themselves etc. They only want to pay you $9-9.50 a hour and work 60 hours a week knowing this brings a toll on the body. They will tell you anything to get a body to work these people dont care about the employees just the buck. I resign today not only cause they refuse to give me my check (when the handbook state every other Thursday which is today.) Also the pay rate we discuss when I transferred out here she refuse to give. Lied and said she would check on it and never did. So today I had the police called on me because I refused to leave without my check. I mean I was resigning and the checks were there what was the problem? They pick and chose what guidelines out the handbook they want to follow. I showed them what their handbook say for payday that I sign and dated. Director say oh thats an old one and that they have a new one. But she couldnt present at the time. Dont believe the hype when yall go to fill out a application or even do a tour its not all peachy as they would like to sell it to you. Me personally think they over charge these people love ones to live in this place. They barely have things to care for the residents. And what assisting living is filled with HOSPICE RESIDENTS?!? They run out of food for residents Ive ask the cook a couple of time what would the residents have for meals and sometimes hell say he didnt know gotta put some together its nothing in there for me to cook for-real gotta wait on shipment and sometimes it can be dead smack the weekend and shipment could be from 2 to 3 days from then. (How can you run out when these residents pay a pretty penny). I know the prices of what these people pay! The ice machine been broke for a while hard getting their Maintenance guy in. They just fixed the air in house one. The place is just horrible! I wouldnt send my parents here if they were the last facility standing on earth. The director only focus is activities she dont even know her residents, if she did shell know 70 year old people who has Alzheimers Dementia cant or will not sit for a full day of activities. Which activities are suppose to happen a certain time of day anyway and not all day. These residents family dont pay for staff to harass their love ones all day about activities. Ive caught the bus everyday 2 hours ride and a 20 minute walk after I get off to show dedication. Now what was the honor In that. These people are just a bush of CON-ARTISTES. I dont recommend this place for work or for love ones to live
