My wife has been at Pecan Ridge since early 2017. We have seen several ownership/management changes, including another last October. Matt Stanley, CEO of Sundance Memory Care Communities, was picked for onsite management at that time. While this can be a difficult time for both resident and family; Matt, using his experience and Montessori principles, has made a smooth transition with many changes for the better. There is an atmosphere of professionalism, order and accountability. The functions of basis care, safety, nutrition and social activities have all improved. Residents are groomed and dressed appropriately with care

My mother has been a resident of the Pecan Ridge Memory Care Center for one year. Each time I visit her there ( twice weekly), I am thrilled at the constant care and attention the staff gives to her. She is truly treated as a valued, respected individual. The warmth the care givers give to each and every resident is very touching. The residents are challenged with games, art activities and many other activities. The staff has created an environment that feels safe and like home. I recommend it highly to any family.

My 92 year old Mother was installed into this facility. Wow! What an amazing experience transitioning her there from Hawaii today. All staff and patients welcomed her with Hawaiian lei's. She was fed and pampered by all staff and other patients too. This was not easy for us. They helped us also in this first day of transition.Much thanks, to Matt, Kacye, Shandra, Jasmine and a host of other staff members. This is a delicate time in all of our lives. We left there fully confident that their excellent and loving care will continue and our hearts are full. My Mother and our family is blessed to have found this amazing community for her.

A few short weeks before her birthday, we decided it was time for a memory care community for my mother-in-law. I work at an assisted living community I felt like I knew what to look for, something more than beautiful brick and mortar, even though this facility is VERY lovely and updated. A facility that would care for her in a loving and respectful manner, would comfort her and be respectful of her physical needs. Pecan Ridge Memory Care is that place. The staff were willing to answer questions at anytime (even if I had already asked them in every way possible.) Melissa especially encouraged us to take the time and feel comfortable with this decision. Tuesday was our sweet mothers 102nd Birthday. Pecan Ridge made it very special for her. Thank you to all the team! We are so proud to call this community her home!

As a previous Rehabilitation Counselor I had an opportunity to serve many in the brain injury/cognitive care community and have always been interested in different methodologies, their application and measurable outcomes. I recently had the opportunity to visit with Matt Stanley, Holly Burk and several of the Pecan Ridge staff to discuss their approach using the Montessori method, application thereof and their outcomes. In hearing their practices it is clear they are placing emphasis on their residents independence, freedom within their abilities, and respect that individuals STORY. The idea of learning a residents background, ranging from their likes, dislikes, youthful experiences, celebrating their abilities, and creating a plan of care around this doesn't sound ground breaking, but it is, as many memory care 'facilities' create these plans with very little input from the resident. Yet, they continue to wonder why the patient is 'difficult'. Matt and Holly are able to share story after countless story about their resident's successes and increased quality of life through implantation of the Montessori method. Not only that, when they speak of these successes, they are not speaking from the view point that they themselves achieved this success, but instead they are speaking in a manner that celebrates the individual residents success. The most beautiful part of witnessing them share patient success stories is that you can tell it is from the heart, with passion and focus on creating the most optimal environment for others/their loved ones.
