my father has now been at Sandpiper for three months and he is a long term care resident. This is not our first rodeo and he has resided in a few different assisted living and skilled nursing facilities over the past few years in FL and SC. So far Sandpiper has been the best experience by far. Not only is the facility well staffed (even on major holidays such as ThanKsgiving and Christmas Day), the staff is all friendly and caring. They do everything they are supposed to do and then some. They have exceeded my expectations. The facility is very clean. The cleaning and maintenance staff are just as professional and courteous as the rest of the staff. The administrative staff is on point as well. When I have had a question, they have gotten back to me same day, and often within an hour. If you have any experience with skilled nursing or assisted living facilities, you will know that everything I have complimented is huge. Not only have I had an excellent experience, but my father has as well. They listen to his concerns when he has them, he is comfortable, he is always clean, he enjoys all the equipment in physical therapy, and most importantly, he trusts the staff. I must say I am very happy that we found Sandpiper and that is where we landed.

The therapy crew is awesome. Most of the CNAs treated me bad. The food is so so. Dinner is too early. Some of the aides have nasty attitudes when they came in my room. When I press the call light, I wait about 15 to 20 minutes for someone to answer it.

My elderly mother spent a very short time (~4-days) at this facility before her death. But during this time, the staff was very helpful and supportive. When she arrived, she was in the very late stages of dementia. The staff communicated very well with the family and kept us informed of her status. As she deteriorated, they kept us informed so we could try to comfort her at the end and went the 'extra mile' to make her last days as comfortable as possible. They understood the stress to the family and worked with us to ensure she got the care she needed and the family got the relief we needed. I would definitely recommend this facility for your loved ones higher care needs.
