My mother had a stroke and after exhausting the time allowed for rehab at the hospital was taken to ManorCare south to continue her therapy. The therapy staff was very attentive and helpful to her and me and progress was made. The assigned doctor prescribed the correct medications and dosages that are being continued to this day to good effect. Staff was courteous though at times overworked. Food was good and usually punctual. Nurses were pleasant and concerned with patients, also seemed overworked from time to time. The overall experience at ManorCare was good and I would recommend it to be considered by someone who may need continued therapy.

Went there for rehab after surgery. Had very good care from everyone---most staff was very pleasant and helpful. The facility is older so it is a bit dated and not as bright and shiny as some of the other nursing facilities but is adequate. (And the TVs are HORRIBLE!--THE REMOTES ARE VERY OUTDATED, probably from the 1960's or 70's---IE you cannot go directly from channel 6 to say, channel 38 for example---you have to go to every channel along the way, one at a time, to change so you miss 1/2 the shows you want to watch!!! Housekeeping was in every day to clean. Food not always the best I've ever eaten but when the choices are not to your liking you can order something different and some of the food is quite good so you never go hungry if you just speak up!Was well enough satisfied with the care I got at Manor Care South that I went back again the next year when I had another surgery and needed rehab again. Rehab department is very good! Nurses and aids are all overworked because the owners will not hire enough staff--so they have too many patients in their care, but do give good care and treat you as an individual not a 'room number' and do a good job under adverse staffing conditions. Would be nice if there was enough staff that they could have enough time to spend a bit of time visiting with patients or giving more than just what is necessary but they have so many that they are responsible for at any one time that they are running from one patient to another just to get the necessities taken care of and don't have time to do any extras for patients : (

Majority of the staff are very rude. Older lady short grey hair ...Nurse comes in a looks out at the window. Gives us dirty looks and walks out the room. There are others in the facility to care for but I hear the staff yelling at residence. My mom was a care taker I can understand the stressors but don't take it out on someone who's done nothing to you. Do your job and smile. Once you leave the room then you can stop smiling if you wish. If you are that miserable then find a new job... should put a hidden camera to know the truth.
