Avamere at Park Place

I absolutely love Park Place. The residents are so nice, you feel like you are part of a family here. There are many many activities for everyone. It is kept very clean & the employees are so helpful. I would recommend my home to anyone looking for a new home. Come join me & see for yourself!

I am an employee at Avamere Park Place formally known as Brookdale Park Place. At the risk of sounding dramatic this is the absolutely the worst facility I have ever worked at. I have only been there for two days and I am putting in my resignation. 1. The residence is not getting their moneys worth. The inside looks very run down and old, The food is everything short of appealing and delicious.2. The staff is very unprofessional. The caregivers do not communicate with one another making patient care more difficult, they are very unorganized. They are having inappropriate conversations with one another in earshot of residence , The receptionist is very mean and very rude to the caregiving staff. I have personally witnessed her being very demeaning to the caregivers.3. I have witnessed unhygienic practices from different caregivers such as checking of patients brief ungloved, I hardly seen my trainer wash her hands between caring for each resident not that they provide a lot of areas to do so. 4. The building constantly smells like old urine. One particular patient room smells like it has been saturated in urine. Their housekeeping department is outsourced so there is no one there after a certain time to clean or disinfect anything. On my first day of training last week, I was told by my trainer that I would lose a lot of weight working here because of the amount of walking we would have to do. She has made several comments about my weight during the day and made other inappropriate comments towards me. Long story short I would never ever recommend anyone bring their loved ones here. As a matter fact I will no longer be there I will be putting in my notice tomorrow effective immediately. I cannot in good conscience work at a facility where no one seems to care about quality. Not even the management. Please see other accommodations for your love one because he will be highly disappointed here

Today is 03012020, my son lives there. In the dinning room. You will find a man blowing his nose at the dinner table. Several clients have to leave. This is not acceptable. Your meal serving size is on a salad plate. Clients are going to bed Hungary. As of today 031020 the management has made several changes on eating in the dinning room. They offer several new dishes.

Avamere Park Place Cassie is sure a benefit to this team.  She was very instrumental in getting me to apply and to come to this Assisted Living location and reiterated how much I would enjoy it being near the park and all of the friendly staff.  Cassie has helped with everything from moving to Insurance questions to medication complications getting transferred here and any other questions about this property Cassie is the go-to person.
