Avamere Living at Berry Park

Please beware! Outside of a select few of the staff, these people have no regard for elderly people. Dont be fooled, theyll be on their best behavior for the tour and maybe even the first few months after that-if youre lucky. Pursue any and all other options for senior living first. I dont even feel comfortable recommending this place as a last resort. Do everything in your power to keep your loved ones out of this place. I dont feel safe for my relative to even include my name on this review, I fear retaliation from Wendy and her gang. The place is emptier than its ever been and for good reason, its obvious that the administration here are only interested in the check theyre getting each month from the residents and not at all about the residents themselves. Its very sad to see good people getting taken advantage of because they dont have anyone to advocate for them. Run away as far as you can from here. I would also like to point out that one of the 5 star reviews left for Berry Park was from one of their current employees(Jill).

I love this place! I am a piano player who comes in and plays for special events and holidays. The staff and residents are amazing! The building is beautiful and the residents seem like theyre always doing something fun. Staff seem to really carefor their residents and attentive to their needs.

There is a reason why people who write scathing reviews keep themselves anonymous, and its not fear of retaliation. Wendy AND her entire staff are the most caring, reliable, flexible people I have encountered EVER! My mother has been there for 1 1/2 years and everyone from Wendy, to the dining room staff, kitchen staff, front desk staff (all shifts) not in any particular order are truly WONDERFUL!! I am there (before the virus) daily. I watch things closely. Wendy knows very well what their limitations are (being an independent living community) and must, by law, let families know when their loved ones need the next step in their journey. I trust everyone there with my moms best interests and safety. When a personal alarm (pendant) goes off that is a priority immediately! My mom is reaching that point where she needs care not available in any independent care facility. I dont want to have to move her from a place where I know she is loved to the unknown of other communities. Its very frightening. Please dont let the negative spewing of an angry post veer you away from Avamere at Berry Park. I truly believe the staff are angels disguised in human form. Over the top? Maybe, but for very good reason. I am not a past or current employee, and by the way, the Jills (1 and 2) are a big part of why this place is successful.

A cat died Saturday morning by a car and it's body was moved to the sidewalk right outside Berry Hill Retirement center, I notified a worker who told me a Maintenance person was aware of it, Monday morning the cat was still laying dead on the sidewalk. CAN'T NOT BELIEVE THIS PLACE WOULD TAKE SO LONG to take care of this!! HORRIBLE!!!
