My Aunt and I took a tour. Kari was so welcoming and the facilites are top notch. We loved the semi-independent living that creates a win -win for my Great Aunt and Us. It's sad to see the reviews of the past. We are very much looking forward to place her when a Studio's available. Will update with our review when services start!

My father has lived here for over a year and a half and he really likes it. The care staff, adminstrative staff and dining staff are all very friendly, helpful and prompt. The facilities are clean and comfortable and there are many activities and events for the residence and their families. I highly recommend Avamere at Hillsboro.

This was the worst experience for my mother. My mother fractured her hip and Avamere was recommended with high ratings. Where to begin with this nightmare. Once she got there no intake was done of medications, routines nothing. That night I stayed up with her to make sure she got settled in. She was in pain so I went to the desk and asked for my mothers pain meds, I got a look like 'Ya what do you want' A little while later an Aid came in and I explained the issue she left and came back and said ' no, sorry she isn't due for anything.' Long story short They didn't read the hospital notes closely and finally got her pain meds hours after having to argue with them. Fast forward to a few days later. My Mom became ill, not eating Ect ect. I kid you not, they would come in and drop of her tray in a chair and walk out and not say a word knowing that she hadn't eaten in a day. I was there for breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Not one time did anyone ask her if she would like something else. Finally come dinner time they came in to drop off her dinner tray and picked up her lunch tray. I stopped the lady and said. 'Really, you haven't noticed she hasn't eaten and has been getting sick and for lunch you drop her off a tray of taco, corn (spicy stuff) and now you are giving her this. She is sick to her stomach and is dehydrated and I'd like to speak to the Nurse. Fast forward after arguing with the nurses for almost two days and nothing I had her transported to a hospital & she was there for almost a week on IV's and her blood sugar was so unstable from the dehydration. A WEEK. A family shouldn't have to barter with them to get her medical attention. I was in contact with someone there after the fact, however they haven't returned my calls to resolve this issue. I want everyone to to be aware of the suffering my mother went through. I need to be my mother's voice since she isn't up to it. I was so upset the way she was treated and us as a family. They are not warm and welcoming as they want you to think when you go in on a tour.
