My sister has lived here in Ashley Manor for over a year. She has advanced MS and the staff here try very hard to make her feel that this is not just health care but also her home. They work hard at providing a caring, loving atmosphere. They also allow me to come and go as I please so that I can maintain an active role in her life. As long as you are aware that your loved one's needs should be re assessed from time to time to be sure the conditions of their illness has not exceeded the level of care they are receiving, you should be very comfortable making the decision to house your loved one here.

I strongly encourage anyone who is considering this place for a loved one to walk away from the idea immediately. We moved my mother into Ashley Manor after another memory care facility in town had failed us. She had late stage Alzheimer's and was already traumatized by her last living experience and a subsequent stay in the emergency room/hospital. She had been there less than a week when we started to notice that the staffing wasn't adequate. My family and I started taking shifts during the day to help my mother who was unable to even stand without help. We were concerned that she would need something and the staff wouldn't be there to assist her. Unfortunately late one evening when we were not there she needed help to the restroom, and as we feared no one came to her aid. She tried to go herself which resulted in an 'accident'. When we arrived the next morning she still had not been attended to- she had spent all night in soiled clothes and a soiled room. All of this stress and mistreatment landed her in hospice where she passed within weeks of this incident. Please, if you are able, seek home care rather than placing your loved one in this facility.

This is a wonderful place to work and have a loved one stay. The environment is friendly and just like home. Anyone that claims otherwise, needed to hire one-on-one care in their own home, because the care needs of their loved one was way too much for the amazing staff that works there, OR they are unrealistic in their expectations. It would not be fair if one of our caregivers spent the entire day in someones room while ignoring the rest of the residents. I encourage anyone that needs a small, warm and friendly environment to have a tour and meet all of the people there - before passing on this great place!

The problem with this place isn't the care...it's the management. Like so many other places in today's society, management has a way of making a good thing, bad. Staff are overworked, management does little to nothing to help and they certainly don't listen to the needs of their employees. It's disgusting how they would rather have their employees overworked, under paid and exhausted, rather than step up to the plate and do their job when stuff hits the fan!
