I want to start off by saying i am just a friend of someone who is currently on the COVID unit here. She has been really scared and depressed last couple of days, I was talking to her via phone and someone had stepped into the room she was asking how she was when my friend let her know she was upset and she felt bad for acting rude to everyone. The employee spoke very kind and listen truly listen to her and she said you have every right to be upset this is a scary situation. Your in a different place with a horrible virus and we come in looking like were looking for ET, its scary. She asked what can I do to comfort you a little more. My friend had said she wanted chocolate milk and had been asking but yet to get any. the employee said she would bring some the following day. I got a phone call of my friend so happy and laughing she had gotten her milk. Very small thing to be so happy about but made such a difference to have someone truly care about making a difference and going out of their way to put a smile on the patients face. The COVID hall is hard I could only imagine having to wear that the whole time. But to show the compassion and love for someone when I know they are hot, and take time to sit down and listen how to made it better, then do it with their own money. These employees deserve to know your heart and kindness isnt unseen. Threw all this hate and scariness in this world your love shines threw all the darkness. Franciscan villa your loving COVID unit Employees thank you for making a difference, and for still having compassion, and remembering why nurses became nurses. God bless everyone of you.

My father went to Franciscan Villa for skilled nursing. His discharge papers from Saint Francis were for 12mg of decadron. Dr Luiscutty, the doctor at the facility, prescribed, and my father took, 36 mg of decadron. THREE TIMES THE AMOUNT HE WAS SUPPOSED TO TAKE. During his week at skilled nursing, he experienced a rapid decline. No one could give us an explanation as to why. No doctor checked on my father as to why he was declining. He went from a 1 person assist to a 5 person assist in a matter of days. At the advice of the medical team, we took my dad home to hospice where we found out he had been over-medicated. Unfortunately, my father never bounced back and suffered a horrible death where he literally drowned on the increased fluid caused by the over dose of steroid. No one at this facility wants to take any responsibility.

I work closely with the staff at Franciscan Villa and have for quite some time. They are very friendly and the facility seems to always be very clean when I stop by.
