A heartfelt thank-you to the wonderful staff at WRMC Medina OH!When my parents, Jack and Helen, first moved into WRMC Independent Living apartment ten years ago, they were active, healthy eighty-year olds enjoying the many programs and outings that were offered by WRMC.They looked forward to concerts, day trips and even casino outings with other residents as arranged by the staff. They enjoyed the food, the holiday events and their ongoing friendship with another couple who had previously moved there. As my mothers health began to fail, we were thankful that she could still thrive in that environment. We were thankful that my Dad had options within the building that could keep him nearby yet available for her needs. My fathers leadership skills were given free rein of expression as he was granted permission and encouraged to lead some adult activities for the residents, including group trivia activities, the sharing of jokes and puns through the resident newspaper, and emceeing programs for the patriotic holidays of Veterans Day, Fourth of July and Memorial Day.When my mother died, my father was able to avert depression and loneliness through the friendships hed formed. We were delighted when after a few years he even found a new sweetheart living at WRMC that put a twinkle back in his eye! He began to help out with lay preaching at the Sunday evening worship services there, writing his sermons and selecting the hymns. He became deeply involved with the Readers Theatre Program, writing skits, performing in them and even getting one or two published. Thursdays Readers Theatre was the highlight of his week. From catering to individual preferences in the dining room, to the open door policy that the administrators and activities directors had with him, to the needs of his declining health during the Pandemic, to the consideration given to our family as we said our earthly goodbyes, Western Reserve Masonic Community, has been first class across the board.I am so thankful for the years my parents had there. In Gratitude,Jean H.

My father was there in rickly building the staff let him lay in wet attends from 10am til i stayed on his call light after being told i couldnt change him at 5pm. This wasnt just a one time deal. Ive heard therapy tell aides he needed to be changed and it still took hours for them to come in and change him. Then when i noticed New brusies on him NO ONE knew how they got there. Ive caught aides in another hall laughing and talking while my dads call light went off for 45 mins if not longer that he was wet. Meds are never given on time or close to the time they are supposed to be, one day his 'morning meds' where given at 1pm.
