Ottawa Retirement Village

Great place to live. Great Land Lord and maintenance man. They are on site most of the time. Many times Land Lord or maintenance man are on site separately too. They both have excellent communication skills, and very helpful to residents. Two laundry rooms, one is upstairs and downstairs. Nice community rooms on both floors! The bigger one is downstairs, we use it for social events here, and Bible study is available if you choose to go! The elevator makes it easy to get to the bigger community room and elevator comes down very near the entrance. Upstairs community room is a little more private, but also very nice, and elevator is very close to it too. Don't worry about family parties either, if you reserve a time in advance, residents can use it for special occasions, and there are doors to close. But everyone else may still use the upstairs community room for board games, visiting, relaxing, or just relaxing alone or with neighbors, or their visitors!The neighbors are some very nice people to get to know! We are all disabled or retired or both retired and disabled. So we give each other privacy at our own apartments, all I have ever had to do is put a sign on my door that says resting, if I'm not feeling the greatest and no one here will bother me. But it's nice too, because if many caring neighbors here don't see you for around 2 days or so, and none of us have seen you at the mailbox, coming in or out of the building, usually one of us just taps on your door to make sure you are ok, if you don't put a sign on your door. We do have emergency call pull cord in the bathroom near the tub and it is long, so you can pull it near to you in the bathroom, by sink or toilet too. A couple of extra grab bars are already installed in the bathroom too. It makes me feel safer to have them too, and they are mounted right by tub or shower step in or out place, and near the toilet stool. Oh, and did I mention Great Neighbors! It's wonderful! It's a great place to live! Inside postal boxes that lock, with your own key, and happy mail delivery person! I've been here now for a year and a month or two! I'm still happy!
