Please consider fully your decision before placing a family member at this facility. My father received substandard care. I am saddened, but not surprised that my Dad passed away over three weeks before I heard a word from any person at the facility. They are excellent at marketing, but please know the medical care is subpar at best. My Dad was found naked and urine soaked the day after we asked three times to have the nurse listen to his breathing (which was rattling) . We (his paid outside companion and me) watched the nurse go outside and smoke multiple cigarettes before checking on him in the late afternoon. She said there was no fluid in his lungs. EVERYONE, from the EMTs who came to pick him up, to hospital personnel, confirmed his lungs were filled with fluid. Who checked in on him the night before or early the following morning before the companion arrived? The nurse unlocked the door for the companion and then walked away (while seeing my Dad laying naked on his bed), leaving her to navigate everything that had to be done. He tried to get up and could not walk. Where was the help? That was when a trip to the doctors turned into an ambulance ride. He passed away at the hospital.Again, they are marketing machines. They tell you they check on your loved one at frequent intervals. Having spent full days there, I know for a fact this is not true.

My sister and I went to visit Brookdale at Walden Ridge for our Mom who has dementia and recently fired her caregiver. Dee, the executive director, and Geri, the marketing director took nearly two hours of their time to discuss the situation with us, and made a lot of helpful recommendations in terms of getting Mom the care she needs. We had no appointment but they were so kind, patient and helpful. One of the things I've learned is to look at the residents. They were calm, clean and well cared for. If Mom didn't want to be closer to her grandsons in the central part of the state, Brookdale would be a great option for her.

We placed my father there for what was supposed to be one week of respite. We went to visit around 10 the next morning. He was lying in a urine soaked bed in a locked room. Their excuse was the fact that no one on the day shift knew he was a patient. That evening he was sent to the ER with a brain bleed from a fall and had to go to skilled nursing. I had to call numerous times to get a refund for unused days. It took over 2 months to get refund.

I have worked here before and the facility was wonderful to be a part of.
