Salem Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare

I have been the caregiver for my 95 year old Aunt Catherine, for the past 5 years. I did my best to accommodate all her needs and keep her living as independently as possible in her apartment in Brooklyn. Unfortunately, she had a bad fall this past March. At that point, she was no longer able to go back and live in that same apartment where she had lived for the past 25 or so years. I was so nervous to uproot her and take her away from everything she knew. Needless to say, I was overwhelmed with the task of finding a nursing facility that would please my heart and head for dear Auntie. I searched and searched and searched and searched. Viola, I finally found Salem Hills! Well, Im not just happy with Salem Hills, I feel so blessed Aunt Catherine is able to be part of the amazing SH family. Here are the most caring, qualified, efficient, helpful, upbeat staff Aunt Catherine has ever had the pleasure of knowing people she now calls her friends. people I can always rely. The atmosphere is welcoming and the place is clean; one would say, immaculate. I want to give a special shout out to: Jenn, the incredible social worker who knows each and every one of the residents needs, Paula and Jessica who tirelessly and cheerfully get every resident involved in fun events downstairs, Lauren our very special night nurse who extends her expertise and friendship to all on the second floor, and Diane in Finance, who has made the process of undertaking the vast amount of confusing paperwork so smoothly. Thankx, too, to the custodial staff who keeps the place sparkling. Ps. And Im thrilled to reportthere is no old people smell EVER -- AT ALL! Salem Hills, you have joined us as our treasured family! Thank you, thank you, thank you to all.

The staff here has been taking wonderful care of our loved one for quite some time and while visiting today I realized we have yet to leave a review! I happened to have my camera with me so I thought Id share some 360 photos with others looking for a long term elder-care solution, they are only a few of the interior and I hope to share more of the lovely grounds when we visit again in the spring! We cant speak highly enough for the great care our dearest Ursula receives from the wonderful staff at Salem Hills. They are very attentive and always communicate any changes very closely with her proxy, we are always so sad when leaving but its very comforting knowing she is in such a great establishment with amazing care takers. Thank you for all that you do not only for our loved one but the countless others - I hope these 360 photos help shine more light on this amazing place and others can find comfort knowing their loved ones are under great care.

Waterview provided excellent care for my family member.The staff was professional, kind, and attentive. The PT and OT staff members were very talented, and the nurses were promptly responsive to residents' needs. The kitchen staff members were flexible and creative with meal prep. Everyone at Waterview seemed to work as a cheerful, energetic team. Thank you for the great care!!!

Wonderful. Worked here for 11 years. They provide lunch, but you can bring your own food from home. The pay is over 15 an hour. Distance... well it all depends on where you live. It's a 40 minute drive for me. This is a wonderful place to work.
